Jiufen is another check point that if you come to Taiwan, you must stop by. Let me define it as a market on a mountain. To be honest, I don't recommend it for the elderly or those with bad knees because the path is uphill. But it's easy to walk. Are you confused? 😅 Most of the things are food, tea shops, and small items that you can buy as souvenirs. Almost every tea shop has the same size and the same price. The food that you should try is the noodle shop and the peanut ice cream. The noodle shop's menu is all in Chinese. When you enter, they will speak Chinese to you first. But when they know that you are a tourist, they will recommend a set that you must eat.

🚍 How to get there: Take bus number 965 from Ximending, a long ride that takes about an hour.

On the way there, we took a taxi from Zhengbin Port Color House for 400.-. On the way back, we stayed in Ximending, so we took a long bus to Ximending. (On the way back, get on the bus at the stop opposite 7-Eleven. Walk up a bit and you'll see it. You can use the easy card.)

⚠️ Trash cans are very hard to find. I recommend buying food from a shop and leaving it at the shop. It's more convenient. I also recommend bringing wet tissues because it's likely to be messy.
