Wuer Teapot Mountain is located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is named after the rock on the top of the mountain, which looks like a teapot without a handle. It is part of the Keelung Mountain Range and a highlight of the Gold Museum.
The mountain is surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful scenery, overlooking the coastline, mountains, and old streets of Jiufen and Jinguashi.
The trail to the top of the mountain is relatively easy, suitable for a relaxing hike. The top of the mountain offers a unique geological landscape, especially at sunrise or sunset.
How to get there:
1. Public transportation:
From Taipei:
Take the Taiwan Railway from Taipei Station to Ruifang Station, which takes about 40 minutes.
Transfer to Keelung Bus No. 788 or No. 1062 at Ruifang Station and get off at Jinguashi Station.
Walk to the entrance of the Teapot Mountain trail, which takes about 10 minutes.
From Jiufen:
Take Keelung Bus No. 788 or No. 825 to Jinguashi, or walk from Jiufen Old Street to the entrance of the trail, which takes about 30 minutes.
2. Self-driving:
From Taipei, take National Highway No. 1 and transfer to National Highway No. 62 to Ruifang Exit, and follow the signs to Jiufen and Jinguashi. There is a parking lot near the Jinguashi Visitor Center, within walking distance of the entrance of the trail.
Tips:
Wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring enough water and snacks.
The view is best on a sunny day, but the trail is steep, so be careful.
Teapot Mountain is close to the Gold Museum, so you can plan a day trip to visit both.
