Yehliu Ocean World opened in 1981 and is Taiwan's first theme park to showcase marine mammals. Its three-story building design includes:
• Marine Fairy Education Hall (top floor): Provides feeding and performances such as dolphins, sea lions, and high-altitude diving, combining entertainment and ecological education.
• Underwater World Exploration Hall (B1): An approximately 100-meter underwater tunnel that displays more than 200 species of marine life, including stingrays, sharks, green turtles, horseshoe crabs, etc., recreating an immersive ocean scene.
• Kids' Fun Party (1F Parent-Child Interaction Area): Renovated in 2020, it features parent-child entertainment facilities such as bubble houses, trains, DIY and role-playing.
In addition, the park has an ice house, 3D painted walls, marine specimen displays and a gift house, which are very suitable for the whole family to play together.
🎭 Performances and Ecological Education Transformation
Dolphin and sea lion performances were once the park's signature, and the high-altitude diving program was quite visually stunning. However, affected by Taiwan's recent animal protection regulations, the park has begun to transform, reducing entertainment animal performances and emphasizing the popularization of education and ecological conservation knowledge . For example, the performance will integrate interactive explanations, feeding experiences and natural behavior observations, and add virtual interactions and venue overnight experiences to combine education with entertainment.
