The secret to getting rich overnight: pan for gold and even find giant gold nuggets at the "Gold Museum"!

#trip Family Outing Choice
When visiting Jiufen, don't just wander around Old Street; be sure to stop by the nearby Gold Museum in Jinguashi! The entire park is enormous, preserving the atmosphere of the mining era. You can actually walk into the mines and even touch a 220-kilogram gold nugget. It's so cool! ⛏️

The only caveat is that the park is located in a mountain town, with stairs and ramps leading up and down, making it a bit tiring. Wear comfortable walking shoes! Also, it can get very crowded on weekends, especially if you want to explore the "Benshan Wukeng" tunnels, where there are often long lines. It's recommended to arrive early or on weekdays for a more relaxed atmosphere.

⚒️ Atmosphere/Facilities:
The entire park is like an outdoor museum with many attractions to explore. Start by visiting the "Four-story Building," a former Japanese mining company dormitory with stunning Japanese-style architecture. Then, be sure to visit the "Gold Museum," which explains the mining history of Jinguashi. The highlight is the opportunity to touch the museum's treasure—a massive gold nugget! After touching it, I felt like I was rich. 🤣

The must-do experience is exploring the "Benshan Five Mine" tunnels! You have to wear a construction helmet to enter, and the tunnels are cool. They even simulate the working conditions of the miners back in the day, making walking through them truly immersive and fun. There's also a "gold panning experience" where an instructor teaches you how to use a gold pan to pan for gold. You can then take the gold back home in a small bottle as a souvenir – a truly rewarding experience!

In the park, there's a "miner's canteen" where you can enjoy traditional miner's bento boxes. These tin-shaped bento boxes are also available for you to take home as a souvenir. It's quite unique! After visiting the museum, if you still have energy left, you can explore the nearby "Golden Shrine." While it's a bit of a climb, the views are incredible!
