On September 11, 2001, a series of suicide terrorist attacks occurred in the United States. Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the attacks. On the morning of that day, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four civilian airliners. The hijackers crashed two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, Building 1 (North Tower) and Building 2 (South Tower). Including all the passengers on the planes and many people in the buildings, citizens of nearly 90 countries or regions around the world died in this incident. Both buildings gradually collapsed within two hours, and other nearby buildings were destroyed or damaged. In addition, the hijackers also forced the third plane to crash into the Pentagon in Virginia, which is near Washington, DC. After the hijackers controlled the fourth plane and flew to Washington, DC, some passengers and crew members tried to regain control of the plane. In the end, the fourth plane crashed near Shanksville, a rural area in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. No one on the four planes survived. This museum restores all the people and things related to the time, which is thought-provoking and shows the preciousness of peace!
