[Niigata] Learn more about the creatures of Sado and the Sea of Japan through special exhibits at Marinepia Nihonkai, a beloved aquarium for locals

The dolphin show at Marinepia Nihonkai not only featured energetic jumps by bottlenose dolphins and Pacific dolphins, but also an educational show with detailed explanations of the anatomy of dolphins.

It was quite refreshing to see the dolphins swimming with their mouths slightly open, showing their teeth, while the zookeepers were explaining about the inside of their mouths; I was amazed that they could even do that!

Currently, Marinepia Nihonkai is hosting an exhibit in the special exhibition room that focuses in detail on the creatures of Sado Island!

The corner featuring Sado's endemic species was explained in an easy-to-understand manner, making it an educational exhibit that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
