I'll introduce you to some of the best spots in Niigata that you'll want to visit now, in the summer, from the perspective of a camera girl!
①② Tsunan Sunflower Square in Tsunan Town 🌻
A whopping 500,000 sunflowers are blooming in the vast grounds!
There is a high platform to make it easier to view the sunflowers, and there is also a sunflower maze, so it looks like it would be fun even with children ♪
Professional photographers are on standby at the best spots, and you can even have your picture taken on the spot! (There is a fee)
The parking lot is spacious, and there are stalls selling shaved ice, gelato, corn, and more!
I went with my child, and there was a temporary air-conditioned space with a baby rest area, so I was able to breastfeed and change diapers without worry!
The sunflower field is covered with sunflowers, so there is no shade,
so don't forget to take measures against the heat, such as wearing a hat!
The following is an excerpt from the official website.
📍Akazawa (Okinohara Plateau), Tsunan-machi, Nakauonuma-gun, Niigata Prefecture, 949-8202
July 27th to August 18th, 2024, 9:00-17:00 *Please refrain from visiting outside business hours.
③Tokamachi Bijin-rin
A 100-year-old beech forest covering an area of about 3 hectares.
It will show you different scenery and faces depending on the season you visit.
If you go in the summer, the budding green will shine and you will feel as if you have entered the world of a picture book.
You will feel a slight drop in the temperature compared to the parking lot.
There are public toilets, but please note that there are no diaper changing stations!
📍1225-1 Matsuguchi, Matsunoyama, Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, 942-1411
④⑤Nagaoka Nagaoka Fireworks
This is what summer in Niigata is all about! The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is a famous event.
The Phoenix fireworks in particular impress people all over Japan.
The gradation from the magic hour, when it's not yet completely dark, to the night also makes you feel the summer! 🎆
Nagaoka Fireworks Held every year on August 2nd and 3rd
📍Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture; Downstream of Chosei Bridge; Shinano River riverbed
⑥⑦ Starry sky from the coast of Murakami 🌌
The night sky inland from Niigata Prefecture is bright because it is in the Kanto region.
However, if you look at the Sea of Japan side, you will see a starry sky!
You can only see Sado Island in the distance.
When watching the stars from Niigata, the Sea of Japan side is overwhelmingly recommended!
If the conditions are good, you can see airglow! You can even see it with the naked eye!
Murakami City is famous for its beautiful sunsets, but how about watching the stars in the night sky?
📍Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, along the coast
Thank you for watching until the end!
Let's take precautions against the heat and have a wonderful summer trip♪
