|A Tranquil Place Among the Five Mountains and Ten Temples
Tiantong Temple was built in the first year of Yongkang in the Western Jin Dynasty (300 AD). It is one of the five famous temples of Zen Buddhism and is known as the "Buddhist Kingdom of Southeast China."
🚌Transportation: Take Metro Line 1 to Baozhuang Station, then transfer to Bus No. 55 to Tiantong Temple.
💰Ticket Information: Tiantong Temple is free to enter, but you need to make a reservation on the platform. There will be a small loudspeaker on site to remind you to scan the code at the service desk of the visitor center after the reservation is successful.
🧗♀️Tour Route: Starting from the visitor center, you can choose to walk through the three mountain gates or take a sightseeing bus directly to the Qita Garden at the foot of the temple. Visit the Wanggong Pool, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Buddha Hall, and the Arhat Hall in turn. After the tour, return to the Wanggong Pool from the other side, visit the Wanfo Pagoda, and finally pass through the original three mountain gates.
💗Main Attractions: Tiantong Temple is well laid out, with a clear structure and a clear distinction between primary and secondary. The main buildings include the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Buddha Hall, and the Arhat Hall. The temple is located at the foot of Mount Taibai, surrounded by six peaks on the east, west, and north sides, forming a spectacular view of "a temple surrounded by peaks, a temple guarding the peaks."
😋Dining Information: Tiantong Temple offers vegetarian meals, breakfast is CNY 5/person, lunch is CNY 15/person, and dinner is CNY 10/person. The vegetarian meal is purely vegetarian, and you need to wash your own dishes. There are also some snack stalls in the park in front of the temple.
