On a sunny early spring day, head to Qiangjiao Town, Ninghai Bay's "Little Jeju," to bask in the sun. Stroll around the seaside, feel the breeze, order a coffee, relax, and watch the sea. Kids can have fun beachcombing on the mudflats. It's truly a cozy and comfortable weekend getaway.
Calling the Qiangjiao Islands "Little Jeju Island" is definitely an exaggeration, but some photos taken from certain angles, especially those featuring seaside cafes, do create a somewhat convincing illusion. Qiangjiao juts out into Ninghai Bay, and on clear afternoons, the natural scenery is indeed captivating. Here are a few recommended photo spots:
1️⃣On the slope next to Minyao Dàshū Coffee·Beer, this is the best spot to capture that Jeju Island vibe.
2️⃣Walk along the slope to the top of the mountain, where you'll see two huge chimneys. They form an interesting contrast with the dilapidated village, a scene that I personally love.
3️⃣Go beachcombing on the rocky beach, where small islands dot Ninghai Bay.
Besides taking beautiful photos, Qiangjiao has many more traditional attractions worth exploring.
Hengshan Island is known as "Little Mount Putuo," and is home to many historical sites.
Luojiakeng Village, an ancient village with a thousand-year history, dating back to the Northern Song Dynasty, is a small village nestled between the mountains and the sea where you can admire the spring flower fields.
Of course, you can't miss the seafood in Qiangjiao Town—a variety of East China Sea seafood is worth trying.
