On a business trip to Ninghai, this is the only hotel I've stayed at three times!

Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai Staycation | Ninghai Sheraton Lake View SuitešŸƒ

šŸƒ Room Type: This time, I stayed in the Executive Lake View Suite. Perhaps because I'm a regular guest, the front desk was quite generous and directly assigned me a lake view suite even on a weekend—marking my first time in a suite at the Ninghai Sheraton. The dual-sink design, along with a separate walk-in closet and dressing room, made for an excellent experience. The layout felt more practical compared to the neighboring Taizhou Sheraton. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the bathtub style, and notably, the hotel doesn’t provide bath salts (the front desk confirmed they’re temporarily unavailable), though there’s a bath salt holder by the tub—a detail that differs from the standard setup at other Sheraton and Marriott properties.

šŸƒ Dining: The executive lounge has clearly improved, with an outstanding afternoon tea. The lounge’s food offerings were more to my liking than breakfast, which was decent but unremarkable. Since the gym and pool downstairs are open to local residents for membership, breakfast hours were crowded, with seats nearly full even past 10 AM.

🧹 Soundproofing/Cleanliness:
The hotel’s soundproofing is effective, ensuring a quiet stay. Cleanliness is well-maintained in both public areas and guest rooms.

šŸ˜ļø Room Type/Layout:
The Executive Lake View Suite has a well-proportioned layout with efficient space usage, featuring dual balconies for great natural light and views. The dual sinks, separate walk-in closet, and dressing room enhance convenience and comfort, while the direct lake view adds to the vacation vibe.

šŸ›Œ Amenities/Facilities:
Basic in-room amenities are complete for daily needs. The public areas are beautifully landscaped with various ornamental trees, elevating the overall ambiance. The pool and gym are standard but functional.

šŸ’° Cost per Person:
I used points (10,000/night) for this stay, making it highly cost-effective.

šŸ’— Other Tips:
1. The executive lounge is excellent—afternoon tea and evening dining are worth trying, especially the highly praised duck dishes.
2. The seafood noodles at breakfast are delicious but may get repetitive; try pairing them with other options.
3. The pool and gym are open to locals, so they can get crowded during peak hours—consider off-peak visits.
4. For a weekend getaway in the Ningbo area, this hotel is a solid choice, especially for travelers who enjoy serene lake views.

Summary:
With its solid hardware, distinctive lake view suites, and great value, the Ninghai Sheraton is a viable staycation option in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region. While there’s room for improvement in details (like bath salt availability) and facilities (e.g., pool/gym), the upgraded executive lounge, comfortable room layouts, and lovely public spaces make it appealing for return stays. For those near Ningbo seeking a weekend retreat, it’s worth considering.
