🏘Phutthasan Cheing Tha – Na Bodhi Temple was once an important temple in the past, Wat Cheing Tha and Wat Na Bodhi, dating back to the mid-Ayutthaya period.
🙏🏽Before 1963, both temples had resident monks. Later, the Royal Irrigation Department requested the expropriation of the land from both temples and the surrounding community.
🏞Wat Na Bodhi was originally located north of the river, but since it was within the royal palace grounds, it was moved to the riverside adjacent to Wat Cheing Tha, where it remains today.
🏡Nonthaburi Municipality, in collaboration with the Fine Arts Department, initiated a conservation and development project to develop it into a tourist attraction. In 2008, the ordination hall of Wat Na Bodhi was moved to Wat Cheing Tha, and renamed Phutthasan Cheing Tha – Na Bodhi Temple, as there were no resident monks.
Highlights of the temple include:
🏠The ordination hall in front houses Buddha images: Luang Pho Suea (Black Tiger) and Luang Pu Reum, the former abbot of Wat Na Bodhi. Inside, Luang Pho To (Big Buddha) is enshrined. A beautiful and ancient image of the Buddha in the Mara-Vijaya posture.
🛖 Tiger God Shrine: The Tiger God is a sacred object revered by the locals.
🛕 Wat Chedi Chedi, which remains in its present state.
🏡 Chedi Chedi – in front of the chapel: Talat Khwan Road, Tha Sai Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province
