🏘 Wat Daeng Thammachart was established in 1857. It is believed that the temple's name originated from villagers bringing red cows to graze in the area, initially calling it Wat Wua Daeng (Red Cow Temple), which later evolved into Wat Daeng (Red Temple).
🙏🏽 However, the name Wat Daeng coincided with another temple. That temple was renamed Wat Daeng Pracharat, while this one was named Wat Daeng Thammachart by the abbot.
Key attractions and significant features within the temple include:
🏠 The ordination hall (Ubosot), housing a magnificent and large plaster Buddha statue as the principal Buddha image.
🙏🏽 A large Naga Buddha statue on the second floor, with various Buddha images in different postures on the ground floor.
⛺ The Viharn of Luang Pho Sothon.
🏚 The Viharn of Phayak Ratch (Tiger King).
🛕 The Chedi (stupa).
🛖 The local museum, which serves as a center for preserving and revitalizing the cultural heritage of Ban Wat Daeng. It houses ancient artifacts for educational purposes for future generations.
