🍜 A Hidden Ramen Gem with Heartwarming Hospitality

While driving back to Akita City from the Namahage Museum in Oga, we stumbled upon らーめん中華 一龍 船越店—a cozy ramen spot that turned out to be a great find. The kids were craving ramen, and this place caught our eye just in time for a late lunch.

We were seated quickly as it was already mid-afternoon, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The server, an elderly uncle, greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. He took our orders efficiently and the food arrived in no time.

The ramen broth was wonderfully rich but not too salty—just the way we like it. A thoughtful touch from the uncle made the experience extra special: he brought us some minced garlic and encouraged us to mix it into the ramen. We followed his advice and wow—it elevated the flavors perfectly.

We also had gyozas, which were decent, but the ramen was definitely the star. Judging by the clientele, which was all local Japanese when we visited, this place clearly has a loyal following—and rightfully so.

Good food, comforting vibes, and that warm Japanese hospitality made this an unexpectedly lovely stop on our road trip.
