#Horae Yoshimi Shrine (Hokona Shrine)
This shrine is located near the Nabegataki intersection in Oguni-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture, and is also known as Hokona-sha. In the past, a kinboko was unearthed from nearby Kuromuta, and the shrine was called Hokona-sha because it was enshrined there. The Honosha has a wooden mask called the Kunlun mask of the Geguraku that has been handed down from the Heian period. Now only temples such as Horyuji Temple and Todaiji Temple have Geguraku masks left, and in Kyushu, only the Horai Yoshimi Shrine has it.
In the area, there are the Husband and Wife Cedar Trees of Honogu Shrine, with trunk circumferences of 6.4m and 5.7m respectively, and an estimated age of 700 years. They are designated as a natural monument of Oguni Town. Kengoku Ryu-no-Mikoto and Bime-mikoto are the main deities enshrined.
