It's the result of unnamed seawater rushing along the lake's embankment, divided by the trees in the water into thousands of streams that converge at the summit. Once the water reaches the breakpoint, it erupts, cascading down the raised skirt-like and lung-shaped travertine formations below, creating a multi-polar, perfectly rounded waterfall.
