Okinawa Islands

#mytraveldiary My visit to the Okinawa Islands felt like discovering a tropical paradise with a unique Japanese soul. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and the warm smiles of the Okinawan people. The islands have a relaxed rhythm that makes time slow down, inviting you to simply breathe and enjoy the beauty around you.

I spent my days swimming in the crystal-clear sea, snorkeling above colorful coral reefs, and watching sunsets that painted the sky in shades of gold and pink. Each island has its own charm — Ishigaki with its stunning beaches, Miyako with peaceful nature, and Okinawa Main Island with a mix of modern life and rich culture.

One of my favorite experiences was learning about Ryukyu culture, unique to Okinawa. The traditional music, dances, and food — especially Okinawa soba and goya champuru — showed a blend of Japanese and Southeast Asian influences. I also visited the Shurijo Castle, a symbol of Okinawa’s proud history and resilience.
