Our visit to Cape Oma wouldn’t have been complete without some fresh tuna, and we’re so glad we stumbled upon あけみちゃん号—just a few steps from the iconic tuna monument. We parked right beside the shop, and from the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with genuine warmth by the lovely aunties running the place.

Though there was a language barrier, their kindness spoke volumes. They even surprised us with complimentary fruit and coffee after the meal, which felt more like visiting an old friend than dining at a restaurant.
