I went to "Yoshitomi," a one-person hotpot restaurant in Kitahama, Osaka.
Established in 1961, this one-person hotpot restaurant has been enjoyed by over 3 million people. They want you to eat a proper lunch, so you can enjoy a one-person hotpot that can be enjoyed as a side dish.
■One-person hotpot set meal Mizudaki (pork shabu-shabu) 1,000 yen
It's said to be the most popular. It's filled with plenty of vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, and can be enjoyed as pork shabu-shabu with ponzu sauce.
The ponzu sauce has a very low acidity and a refreshing citrus flavor, making it an excellent dish! It's so delicious that you'll want to drink it all up. The white rice that was dipped in ponzu sauce and then bounced on top was also extremely delicious.
The white rice has fine grains and a sweet taste. It's served in a rice cooker, so you can have as many refills as you like. The mizudaki and ponzu sauce were so delicious that I ended up eating two bowls.
This time, I ordered the most popular and recommended Mizudaki, but they also have chicken sukiyaki and kimchi hotpots, so I'd like to go back and try different flavors of hotpot.
