Day 1
Early in the morning, I arrived at the Osaka Prefectural Office located in Nakanoshima, Osaka. This historic building impresses with its magnificent Western classical style. The red brick walls and delicate white stone decorations complement each other perfectly, exuding a strong vintage atmosphere. Stepping into the hall, the high vaulted ceiling and intricately carved staircase showcase the meticulous and thoughtful design. I specially joined a guided tour to learn about the building’s important role in Osaka’s history. From an administrative center to a cultural event venue, its functions have evolved over time. After lunch, I strolled through Nakanoshima Park beside the Prefectural Office, where the riverside willows and distant skyscrapers create a beautiful urban landscape. In the afternoon, I visited the nearby Osaka City Central Public Hall, which echoes the architectural style of the Prefectural Office, highlighting the historical and cultural heritage of the Nakanoshima area.
Day 2
The second day began with another visit to the Osaka Prefectural Office, but this time I focused on exploring its details. The arched windows inside, exquisite wall lamps, and classical furniture all evoke the charm of the Showa era. I made a point to climb to the building’s internal observation point to overlook the entire Nakanoshima area, where rivers and buildings weave a three-dimensional cityscape. After lunch, I walked to the nearby Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library and quietly browsed books about Osaka’s architectural history, gaining a deeper understanding of the stories of this land. In the afternoon, I chose to rest briefly at a café inside the Prefectural Office, where sunlight streamed through the windows onto the table, making one reflect on the passage of time.
