Heading to Gulangyu, also known as Gulangyu Island!
Apparently it was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2017.
It feels like a European, tropical island retreat. 🌴

It's amazing how, despite the skyscrapers on the opposite shore, a 10-minute ferry ride takes you to a remote island that feels like a completely different time and country.

Apparently, cars and motorcycles are prohibited on the island.
Perhaps because of this, the island is incredibly peaceful and the beautiful scenery is well-preserved.
However, it does get crowded with tourists.

There are several famous sights on the island.
One particularly famous spot is Sunlight Rock, an observation deck-like structure.
It's the highest point on the island, offering panoramic views of Xiamen.

The climb is quite challenging, so we left our stroller behind and simply climbed the stairs.
To be honest, it's a bit tough with kids, but the view at the top is spectacular, so it was worth the challenge!
To climb Sunlight Rock, we purchased a ticket for 50 NTD per adult.

There were also many restaurants and guesthouses.
We stopped at a restaurant for lunch.

🟠 Shangri-La Hotel
It's no exaggeration to say that this was the highlight of my Xiamen trip: the Shangri-La Hotel!
It was absolutely fantastic!
I highly recommend it among the hotels I stayed at in China!!

The most appealing feature was the lounge, which was open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
It was located on the fourth floor and was open whenever I wanted.
I enjoyed drinks, desserts, and sweets. (Desserts and bread were available from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM)

During happy hour, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, they served light meals buffet-style, and we had dinner there as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves without leaving the hotel from morning to night, lol.

The kids' room was also well-equipped.
They have a kids' room similar to the one at the famous Pudong Shangri-La Hotel, popular among Shanghai residents. While it's smaller, it's still perfectly suitable for children up to elementary school age.

The beach is just a 10-minute walk away, so you can play on the sand and even go clam digging.
When I told the front desk we were going to the beach, they gave us some toys for the kids.
They also have a pool and gym.

The breakfast was also excellent.
It wasn't particularly extravagant, but it was varied and delicious.
They made the noodles right in front of us, and they were delicious.

With such great facilities and the hotel's happy hour in the evening, I think it was a great value.
This is my most recommended hotel ever! 🏨
