The Notes of Shinsaibashi: Echoes of Time in Osaka

On our first day in Osaka, we chose to visit the vibrant Shinsaibashi to experience its shopping charm and street food. In the morning, we took the subway to Shinsaibashi Station, and stepping out, we were immediately drawn to the bustling scenes along the street. Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street is Osaka’s most iconic shopping street, featuring a wide variety of shops ranging from luxury brands to affordable goods. Strolling along the shopping street, we entered a traditional Japanese crafts store and picked out some unique wooden souvenirs. At noon, we stopped at a popular takoyaki shop and savored the hot takoyaki, with its crispy outside and soft inside, paired with rich sauce and bonito flakes, making it hard to stop eating. We walked along Shinsaibashi-suji all the way to Dotonbori, where the neon lights shone brightly at night, and the giant crab sign and Glico running man sign were must-visit photo spots.
