VOCO Osaka — A Newly Opened Hotel by the IHG Group

Just went to Osaka for a trip and stayed at the newly opened IHG hotel — VOCO Osaka. This hotel just opened a few days ago, everything is very new, so friends who like staying in new hotels should be very satisfied. I chose this hotel mainly because it opened this year, the exterior design is quite beautiful, and since this trip was mainly to Kyoto, staying here was fairly convenient for getting there.

The hotel lobby, coffee bar, bar, and restaurant are all on the same floor. When I first entered, I thought I had gone to the wrong place because it didn’t look like a traditional hotel lobby at all. The design is quite stylish, with a vintage feel, both fashionable and well-designed, giving a very nice overall impression.

The room feels spacious, and basically has all the equipment I wanted to use: kettle, coffee machine, iron, humidifier, and they even prepared pajamas 😂. The bathroom is also quite nice, and there’s an ice machine in the corridor (although I only drink hot water, I think having this is quite thoughtful 🤣).

Of course, there are some minor drawbacks, such as the comforter being a bit thick, the shower water not being particularly hot (it rained that day, and I originally wanted a hot shower to warm up), and the toothbrush was rather ordinary. Taking public transportation from the airport requires one transfer, and the transfer station involves about a 10-minute walk, but after arriving at the station, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the hotel, so it’s not too troublesome.

There are quite a few restaurants near the hotel, but restaurants in Osaka are easy to get fully booked. Without reservations, many places are hard to get into. However, we finally tried a pretty good restaurant. The owner didn’t speak a word of English, and we couldn’t understand Japanese, so it was a blind order, but surprisingly everything was quite delicious! Also, the environment here is very quiet, the streets aren’t crowded, and it’s great for taking photos. It was a very comfortable stay.
