Osaka

Review of traveling in Osaka, Japan, a charming city full of bright stories 🥰🇯🇵

Hello everyone! Today Boom will share her trip experience in Osaka, Japan in a cute and cheerful way, just like chatting with friends. Boom traveled during the spring season in Osaka, when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, feeling so refreshing. Osaka is a city full of vibrant culture, delicious food, and the charm of its people. If you like to travel chill and eat deliciously, this place definitely fits the bill.

Day 1: Arrive at Kansai Airport, stroll around Dotonbori, and try takoyaki

As soon as the plane landed at Kansai International Airport, we were super excited because Osaka is famous for its delicious food and relaxed atmosphere.

Getting from the airport to the city is very easy. We took the JR Kansai Airport Rapid Service, and in no time, we arrived at Namba, a very lively area in Osaka.

After checking in at the hotel, we quickly went out to walk around Dotonbori, a pedestrian street with the brightest giant neon signs in the city. This place is full of restaurants and cute souvenir shops.

A must-try is “takoyaki,” round balls filled with octopus, topped with sweet sauce and mayonnaise, smelling so fragrant. The outside is crispy and the inside is soft, with a rich flavor that made me buy it again and again.

We also tried “okonomiyaki,” a Japanese pancake made from vegetables and meat, with a sweet and salty taste, eaten with a special sauce here. It was so delicious that I had to give it a thumbs up.

Day 2: Have fun at Universal Studios Japan, the theme park of dreams 🎢🎠

The next day, we had a blast at Universal Studios Japan (USJ). This theme park gathers famous cartoon themes like Harry Potter, Minions, Jurassic Park, and Super Nintendo World.

The Harry Potter zone feels like stepping into a real magical world, with Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade Village to explore and take lots of photos. Don’t miss trying Butterbeer, the famous sweet, fragrant, and refreshing drink.

Then we played Mario Kart in the Super Nintendo World zone. It was so exciting, like racing in the actual game, so fun that we lost track of time.

There are many other rides, both thrilling and suitable for kids. Everyone in the family had fun.

Day 3: Chill shopping at Shinsaibashi with cute cafes ☕️🛍️

This day was my favorite because I got to stroll leisurely at Shinsaibashi, a large shopping area in the heart of Osaka.

There are many fashion brand stores, cute Japanese souvenir shops, as well as Japanese sweets shops and beautifully decorated cafes.

I stopped by a cafe serving cute latte art in the shapes of animals and flowers, along with soft, perfectly sweet cakes. It felt like a perfect rest and recharge.

There are also shops selling cute household items and decorations that made us happily shop for souvenirs to take home.

Day 4: One-day trip to Kyoto, Fushimi Inari and Gion 🌸🎎

Osaka is very close to Kyoto, so we didn’t miss a one-day trip there.

We started at Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, famous for its long rows of red torii gates. The atmosphere is peaceful and beautiful, perfect for walking and taking photos.

A short hike up the hill offers a stunning view of Kyoto city. I felt deeply immersed in authentic Japanese culture here.

Then we strolled around Gion, an area full of traditional Japanese houses. If lucky, you might see a geisha or maiko in kimono walking by. It’s a very nostalgic vibe.

Day 5: Explore Kuromon Ichiba Market for fresh seafood and snacks 🦐🍣

Before leaving, let me take you to Kuromon Ichiba Market, famous for fresh seafood and a variety of snacks.

Here you can find grilled scallops, tempura shrimp, fresh sushi, and many Japanese sweets to choose from.

Walking and tasting everything was so delightful. The prices are also reasonable, allowing us to try many dishes to our heart’s content.

There are also authentic Japanese souvenir shops to buy gifts to take home.

Tips for the best Osaka trip 💡
• Buy an ICOCA or Suica card for convenient travel by train and bus.
• Comfortable sandals or sneakers are your best friends for this trip because there’s a lot of walking.
• Download navigation and translation apps to make traveling much easier.
• Bring your own cloth bag because plastic bags are not free in Japan.
• You must try takoyaki and okonomiyaki here—they’re really amazing!

Summary of impressions 💕

Osaka is a city full of warmth, fun, and the charm of its people and culture. I was impressed by the variety of delicious food, the lively city atmosphere, and the friendliness of the locals.

If anyone is planning a trip to Japan, try stopping by Osaka. I guarantee you’ll fall in love with this city just like I did!
