Reasons to Visit Parks When You Go to Japan

Japanese parks beautifully capture the charm of each city!!
Let me introduce Tokyo's Inokashira Park, Sapporo's Nakajima Park, Osaka's Tennoji Park, and Fukuoka's Ohori Park!

Tokyo Inokashira Park
Located in western Tokyo, Inokashira Park is a relaxing spot for citizens to enjoy nature in the heart of the city. At the center of the park lies the expansive Inokashira Pond, where you can leisurely ride swan or duck boats. During cherry blossom season, the stunning cherry blossom tunnel creates a breathtaking view. Simply strolling around the pond or sitting on a bench offers a healing experience. The Ghibli Museum is adjacent to the park, making it a great place to visit together.

Sapporo Nakajima Park
Situated in the center of Sapporo, Nakajima Park offers a different scenery in every season. The park harmoniously combines dense forests, a pond, and cultural facilities such as the Sapporo Concert Hall and a literature museum. In winter, you can enjoy the beautiful snow-covered landscape, and in summer, it’s perfect for a refreshing walk among the green trees. Although it’s in the city center, the park has a tranquil atmosphere, making it ideal for spending a peaceful time.

Osaka Tennoji Park
Located near Osaka’s landmarks Tsutenkaku Tower and Abeno Harukas, Tennoji Park offers a comfortable resting space amid the lively city atmosphere. The park features a large lawn and various facilities including the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art and Tennoji Zoo, making it especially popular with families. Recently, modern facilities have been added, allowing visitors to enjoy the park even more comfortably.

Fukuoka Ohori Park
Ohori Park, located in downtown Fukuoka, is one of Japan’s representative “water gardens,” centered around a large pond. Well-maintained walking paths along the pond attract many joggers and walkers. At night, the lighting creates a romantic atmosphere, and three islands in the middle of the pond are connected by bridges that you can cross. The Fukuoka Castle ruins and Fukuoka City Museum of Art are also nearby, making it convenient to visit them together.

I hope you make many joyful memories in the parks on your next trip to Japan!
