
Wanlong Ski Resort, located in Honghualiang, Chongli County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is China's first open-air ski resort. It covers an area of 30 square kilometers, with a highest point at 2,110.3 meters above sea level and a vertical drop of 550 meters. It is 249 kilometers from Beijing and 60 kilometers from Zhangjiakou City.
Due to its regional advantages, transportation is very convenient. It only takes 3 hours to drive from Beijing. The ski resort has introduced a large-scale snowmaking system, which, combined with the unique natural snowfall, makes Wanlong Ski Resort the earliest open ski resort in Asia; the 2,600-square-meter ski equipment rental hall is equipped with an advanced electronic fee management system; the more than 1,400-square-meter viewing fast food restaurant provides spacious space and is surrounded by light music, providing visitors with comfortable and convenient services.
It is suitable for ski enthusiasts with a certain level of experience, and the hardware equipment and surrounding services are also particularly complete.

Wanlong Ski Resort is one of China’s major ski destinations, established to promote winter sports in the Zhangjiakou area. It played a key role as a venue for training and competitions during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, highlighting its importance in Chinese winter tourism.
Located in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, about 220 km northwest of Beijing. Best access is by car or shuttle bus from Zhangjiakou or Beijing. Taxi services and private transfers from local hotels are available. Walking is limited to the resort area itself.
The ski season typically runs from late November to early March. Resort hours are usually 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Early morning is best for fresh snow and fewer crowds; weekends are busier.
Lift tickets vary by season and slope access; generally around 200–500 CNY per day. Tickets can be purchased online through the official resort website or on-site at ticket counters.
Booking online in advance is recommended during peak season (December–February), ideally 1–2 weeks ahead to secure preferred dates and rental equipment.
