Real Experience at ad hoc Osaka: The Contrast Under the Michelin Halo

With the Michelin star halo, is ad hoc truly deserving or overrated? After visiting in person, this dining experience was full of unexpected contrasts!
The lunch set at 13,000 yen was fairly easy to reserve. The Nordic-style space, with gray-white and natural wood tones, was quiet and comfortable, healing from the moment you stepped in. But once the dishes arrived, expectations began to "fluctuate"—
🦐 The appetizer featured whole shrimp paired with zucchini and pineapple cubes, fresh and refreshing, but the lemongrass shrimp cold soup had a fishy smell that made one frown; the seared coral trout was tender with a strong smoky aroma, a highlight; however, the heavy gamey flavor of the venison and the rawness of the peanut sprouts were hard to accept. The desserts were a collective "fail," with charcoal-grilled corn gelato and green tea pistachio tart... every bite was "subtle" in a not-so-good way.
The service was gentle and attentive, but English communication was a bit rough; the dishes were creative but the flavors received mixed reviews. Despite the Michelin halo, such contrasts were hidden! If you want to check in, it’s recommended to wait for the new menu before considering, to avoid pitfalls!
