Osaka Castle Park Transportation Guide|Essential Guide to Exploring the Famous Castle

Guide

Osaka Castle Park is located in the center of Osaka City, covering an area of 105.6 hectares. It is famous for Osaka Castle’s main keep and is a popular spot for cherry blossom and autumn foliage viewing. It is conveniently accessible by subway or JR lines from within Osaka City.

Take the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line to Tanimachi 4-chome Station (Exit 1-B or 9) or Temmabashi Station (Exit 3), then walk about 15-20 minutes to reach Otemon Gate; from Morinomiya Station on the Chuo Line or Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line (Exit 1 or 3-B), it’s about a 15-minute walk to Aoyamon Gate.

From JR Osaka Loop Line, get off at Osaka Castle Park Station and walk 5-10 minutes directly to Aoyamon Gate. The ride from Osaka Station takes about 9 minutes and costs 160 yen.

It is recommended to purchase the Osaka Amazing Pass, which offers unlimited subway rides and free admission to the main keep and Nishinomaru Garden, or use the JR Kansai Area Pass, ideal for exploring multiple locations.

Within the park, the main keep, plum grove, and Nishinomaru Garden are must-see photo spots. The cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves are especially enchanting. Combined with the ancient castle scenery, it perfectly blends history and nature, making it a classic landmark not to be missed when traveling in Osaka.
