[Osaka] Universal Studios Japan Official! Liber Hotel Room Review

I booked [Liber Hotel At Universal Studios Japan], also called River Hotel, Liber Hotel, or Libel Hotel, as the accommodation for the last 3 days of my birthday week. The plan was an early bird deal for 13,200 yen with free cancellation up to one week before.
The location is a 2-minute walk from Sakurajima Station, the terminal station after Osaka Universal City Station. Although I’m not going to Universal Studios, I’m staying at an official Universal Studios hotel. 🤣
The reason I booked here is because the rooms are spacious with ocean or USJ views, the breakfast looked good, and it’s an onsen resort hotel located in Osaka city. The price was also attractive.
After finishing my schedule in Kyoto, I arrived in Osaka at 9 PM and checked in. It’s a large hotel building used entirely as a hotel, with nearly 90 rooms per floor stretching long like corridors on both sides. The rooms are said to be from the 5th to the 14th floor.
There is a large outdoor terrace and café where you could spend hours just relaxing. Guests can use these facilities multiple times during their stay. You don’t need to bring towels; regular customers are charged 2,000 yen for this.
However, it closes at midnight and opens at 6 AM. The rooms face the Tempozan Bridge, and below you can see large ships passing by frequently, offering a beautiful ocean city view. From the onsen terrace, the Ferris wheel is clearly visible.
I booked the most basic room, the Standard Double Room. The standard room seems to face the ocean view. I was assigned a room on the 12th floor. The onsen is like a large jjimjilbang similar to Starfield’s Aqua Field.
It’s big enough to accommodate over 400 people at once. There are that many lockers. The open-air bath is large, and the main bath is incredibly huge. I went to the onsen with dozens of middle school students on a school trip. It was lively and noisy.
You can see the USJ view when the elevator goes up and down. USJ is a 15-minute walk or 2 minutes by train, but the hotel does not operate a shuttle, so if USJ is your main purpose, the location might be a bit inconvenient.
Breakfast is served in one place despite the hotel having over 800 rooms, so the waiting time is long. I went down around 6:50 AM, lined up, and sat down around 7:05 AM. Although the school trip students were separated in a different hall, it was still crowded.
However, the quality of breakfast exceeded expectations, featuring Osaka specialties like kushikatsu, takoyaki, yakisoba, and udon. They also grilled steak, and there was plenty to eat. You can enjoy ice cream in ready-made cups.
Although my flight from Kansai Airport is around 11 AM, the location is not far from the airport since it takes only 7 minutes to get to Nishikujo Station. Since it was a birthday stay, I also received a birthday card. Thank you.
※ From April 1, 2024, it seems this hotel will no longer be an official Universal hotel, as announced on the official website: USJ ticket sales will end, the official store inside the hotel will close, and USJ Snoopy character rooms will disappear.
