📝 Overview

null² (NulNul, null2) is the signature pavilion themed "Polishing Life," located at the center of the Osaka/Kansai Expo held in 2025 on Yumeshima, Osaka Prefecture.

The producer is media artist Yoichi Ochiai, who expressed the worldview of "Digital Nature (Computational Nature)" through architecture.

Features of Architecture and Production

The exterior is a cubic structure (a cluster of voxels) made of mirrored membranes. The mirror surface deforms in response to wind and sound, organically reflecting visitors and the surrounding scenery.

Equipped with interactive mechanisms that dynamically deform using robot arms and acoustic vibrations, it is designed as a "living architecture."

Exhibition Experience

Visitors are 3D scanned via a smartphone app to generate and project a digital avatar (MirroredBody®). The avatar can interact with CG images and AI.

Inside, 360-degree LEDs and mirrors are arranged, allowing visitors to experience a theater space surrounded by mirrors and images, as if in another dimension.
