Once upon a time~ when the Minions took over Universal Studios

When I confidently walked through the gates of Universal Studios Japan, I thought I was just going to chill on some rides and see a bit of Spiderman or Harry Potter. But no… the park was “taken over” by those mischievous yellow creatures called Minions! They were everywhere like a little army—on parade floats, popping up in souvenir shops, and dancing wildly in front of the entrance.

Walking through the Minion Mayhem zone, the laughter of “Ba-na-na!” echoed so loudly it made me smile along. Both kids and adults lined up like a long snake, waiting to get on the ride that turns us into tiny Minions.

The atmosphere that day was fun and impressive. The parade music mixed with the laughter of everyone in the park made it feel like the whole Universal had truly become the Minions’ city. There was even a banana-themed merchandise zone selling everything from Minion popcorn buckets to “Ba-na-na” flavored snacks, and many visitors came dressed in Minions costumes, really getting into the theme.

To sum up that trip… I’m not sure if I went to USJ or accidentally wandered into the world of the Minions, but one thing’s for sure—it’s a memory that always makes me smile whenever I think about it.

Opening hours: 8:30 AM - 9:30 PM, may vary on certain days.
It’s recommended to check the details on the USJ website before you go.
