Osaka Tsutenkaku Observatory, Shinsekai Street, a bustling retro city

#TravelGuide

Located in the heart of Osaka's Naniwa Ward's Shinsekai district, Tsutenkaku Tower is a 103-meter-tall observation tower rebuilt in 1956 and a landmark of the city.
The observation deck offers panoramic views of Osaka City and the surrounding Tennoji Park, and on a clear day, you can even see Awaji Island in the distance.
Just below the tower and nearby Shinsekai Street, a street lined with retro signs and food stalls reminiscent of the Showa period.
This area is lined with kushikatsu (fried skewered meat) restaurants, takoyaki vendors, and other street food stalls, making it a great place to stroll and eat and browse.
Access is also very convenient, with Tsutenkaku Tower just a 3-10-minute walk from Dobutsuen-mae Station on the Midosuji Subway Line or Ebisucho Station on the Sakaisuji Subway Line.
If you're looking for a leisurely stroll through the city center and a taste of local culture,
we highly recommend the course, which begins with a view of the city from the Tsutenkaku Observatory, followed by a stroll through the alleyways of Shinsekai, savouring local food and adorned with brightly lit signs.

This combination, combining sightseeing and everyday life, history and a retro sensibility, is a charming part of any trip to southern Osaka.
