[Osaka • Ikuno Ward] If you go to Koreatown, be sure to buy some Gejang from "Daikokuya" to take home!

"Gejang" is a Korean dish made by marinating raw crabs in a sauce and letting them mature.

[Ganjang Gejang] is marinated in a soy sauce-based sauce, while [Yangnyeom Gejang] is marinated in a gochujang-based sauce.

Whenever I go to Koreatown, I always buy Yangnyeom Gejang from "Daikokuya". There are large and small sizes, but it contains 2-3 servings of crab legs and costs 1,500 yen. The price seems to change depending on the season, but I think it's usually always 1,500 yen. Also, the Nagaimo Kimchi is excellent ✨ Nagaimo (mountain yam) kimchi originated here at Daikokuya.

If you ask how to eat Gejang or what kimchi is recommended this season, the shop owner will kindly teach you.

*The thing wrapped in newspaper in the 9th photo is Gejang, and the thing in a clear plastic bag is Nagaimo Kimchi (500 yen per bag). On hot days, I recommend bringing an ice pack. The 10th photo shows yangnyeom gejang on a plate, with plenty of delicious spicy marinade.
It's delicious when you mix this sauce with hot rice!
