Otaru, Hokkaido. The night market "Yummy Market" and night view of the Otaru Canal 100th Anniversary Project.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Otaru Canal's completion (1923), and various events are being held around Otaru.

On the promenade between the Otaru Canal Central Bridge and Ryugu Bridge and the Otaru Canal Ryugu Bridge to the former Hokkai Can No. 3 Warehouse, an event called "Terrace Otaru - Welcome, Night is Otaru - North Canal Night Market - Yummy Market" was being held.

There were also food stalls and performances by local businesses, and people holding sky lanterns.

The Otaru Canal at night had a slightly different atmosphere than during the day.
The illuminated warehouse district also gives a sense of the weight of history.

The 100th anniversary monument was also lit up.

The tables were decorated with LED lamps, lighting up the beautiful Otaru night.

I happened to pass by the Otaru Canal at night during my trip.

I was able to make some wonderful memories😊
