When traveling in Otaru, I was particularly looking forward to tasting the local seafood delicacies, and Seiichiya, a sea urchin specialty store located in Sakaimachi Shopping Street in Otaru City, was undoubtedly my first choice. This restaurant specializes in serving a wide selection of sea urchins from Hokkaido and other regions, which is exciting for a sea urchin lover like me.

First of all, the restaurant's signature dish, the "Five-color Sea Urchin Rice Bowl", is a delicacy not to be missed. This dish allows me to enjoy the flavors of sea urchins from five different regions at once. The characteristics of each type of sea urchin are perfectly presented in terms of texture and taste. The restaurant emphasizes the fresh sea urchins purchased that day, and every bite is full of the fresh taste of the ocean. Although the price is relatively high at ¥7700 (tax included) per serving, it is definitely worth it for the quality and variety of the sea urchins.

In addition to sea urchin, the restaurant's seafood miso soup is also delicious and full of the fresh aroma of seafood. However, the crab part can be omitted (for seasoning?).

We dined at 10am, no need to queue, the restaurant staff spoke fluent English, no problem communicating with them, very comfortable.
