Strolling the Otaru Old Canal | A Romantic Day Trip to a Retro Brick Warehouse, a Glass Workshop, and a Music Box Museum

#September Good Places 2025
Otaru, this super-feeling port town in Hokkaido, really made me travel through time for a second! Walking to the canal bank, a row of brick warehouses + retro gas lamps reflected on the water, the nostalgic atmosphere is so chill ~ 🥰

Once a bustling financial hub, now it has become a hipster art corner - the glass workshop is shining, the sense of craftsmanship is full; the music of the music box is very gentle, and there are many fine products to watch slowly. Walking in Sakaicho-dori, the sweet and sweet aroma of desserts + fresh and sweet sushi hits your face. I can't help but try them all!

The beauty of Otaru is hidden in the details: a yellow light, a piece of glass, a crisp wind chime, all make people indulge in the tranquility of the North - Romantic! If you like hipster slow life, this is a must-visit!
