✨Can you visit Otaru in the summer?✨

For those worried about the summer in Japan being too much fun, we have some recommendations for you!
We chose Hokkaido because it's a northern island, and the weather isn't too hot. While this year was hotter than previous years, we don't think it's as scorching hot as Tokyo.

If you're in Hokkaido and have a free day, we recommend Otaru. It's about a half-hour train ride from Sapporo Station. There are both JR and subway lines, so it's easy to get around. Once you get to Otaru, you can start exploring right away.

On the day we went, we spent about 5-6 hours exploring because we had already booked our return train. But if you take your time and take photos, we think you could spend the entire day there. If we go again, we'll definitely go early and return late.

Otaru has a ton of food, including ice cream, chocolate, bread, cheesecake, and savory dishes. There's even a fish market. We'll share more about the restaurants in Otaru later! 🫶
