The Otaru Stained Glass Museum (officially the Museum of Stained Glass, former Takahashi Warehouse) is a romantic art haven within the Otaru Art Village! 🏛️✨ Originally a Meiji-era warehouse, the museum retains its retro red-brick architectural style.
The museum houses approximately 100 exquisite stained-glass windows from British churches dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries! 🕊️ These stained-glass windows once adorned the windows of solemn British churches, depicting biblical stories, the splendor of the Victorian era, and the historical changes following World War I. ☀️ Sunlight filters through these colorful panes, casting dreamlike shadows and immersing visitors in a sacred and poetic atmosphere. 🌈💖 Each piece comes with a detailed explanation, making it easy for even first-time visitors to understand the story behind it. 📖
Some noteworthy stained-glass windows include "The Sower," "The Canterbury Tales," and "The Last Supper."
Ticket Price: Adults ¥1200, University Students ¥1000, High School Students ¥700, Junior High School Students ¥600, Elementary School Students ¥300
