[Hokkaido] A stunning pink carpet! "Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park"

The Higashimokoto Shibazakura Festival is held every May in Higashimokoto, Ozora Town, in the eastern Hokkaido area.

A stunning pink carpet of moss phlox spreads across the 10-hectare square at the foot of the mountains in Mokoto Town.

The park has a campsite, sightseeing cars, go-karts, a fishing pond, hot springs, foot baths, and even Yamatsumi Shrine, with its pink torii gate that is popular on Instagram.

The best time to see the flowers is usually mid-May, around the Golden Week holidays. As the flowers continue to bloom, it is generally a good time to travel to Hokkaido at an affordable price.
The 2025 blooming was declared on May 9th.
