🇹🇷Turkey Pamukkale Philippi Tomb and Church of the Martyrs Pilgrimage

There are old ruins behind Pamukkale and Cleopatra Hot Springs.
From the amphitheater to the necropolis, etc... However, since I have already seen many ancient ruins in the Seljuk region, I went to the church in Philippi, which is a little further away.
Philippi, a figure that Christians or those who have read the Bible would know, is one of the 12 disciples of Jesus.
He was martyred here in Hierapolis.
In 2011, Philippi's tomb was discovered during an excavation,
but his remains are currently kept in Rome, not here.
In 80 AD, Philippi was crucified and stoned to death in Hierapolis, and a memorial church was built on the site of his martyrdom.

The area around the church is a complete wasteland, a paradise of ruins,
and there are sarcophagi from 1,200 years ago scattered here and there. In any case, the Turkish class is amazing...
It is the place of martyrdom in Philippi, which is the farthest from Pamukkale, so you have to walk a bit, but I thought it was a good idea to visit there because it was a moment where I felt many different things.
