📍Montmartre, my FAVOURITE destination in Paris, is a historic and artistic district in Paris' 18th arrondissement, famous for its cobblestone streets, charming cafés, and breathtaking city views. Once home to legendary artists like Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Montmartre retains its bohemian spirit and remains a hub of creativity.
Check out my pictures for the nice photography spots as well.
Top Attractions in Montmartre:
📍Sacré-Cœur Basilica:
- A stunning white-domed church perched at the highest point in Paris.
Offers one of the best panoramic views of the city.
- Inside, admire the grand mosaic of Christ in Majesty, one of the world’s largest.
- Have an overview of Paris city from above.
📍Place du Tertre:
- A lively square filled with street artists, portrait painters, and cafés.
Perfect spot to soak in the artistic atmosphere and get a hand-drawn portrait.
📍Moulin Rouge:
- The world-famous cabaret known for its extravagant shows and birthplace of the can-can dance.
- Located at the foot of Montmartre in Pigalle.
🚌How to Get to Montmartre:
By Metro:
Take Line 2 to Anvers station (closest to Sacré-Cœur).
Take Line 12 to Abbesses (a scenic walk through Montmartre’s streets).
By Funicular:
- Take the Montmartre Funicular up to Sacré-Cœur for a quick and easy ride.
By Walking (my favourite):
- If you enjoy a scenic climb, take the stairs leading up to Sacré-Cœur, offering beautiful views along the way.
