Laguna Redang Island Resort, Malaysia

We weren’t even staying here — our cruise ship just made a stop at Redang Island, and we decided to wander into Laguna Redang Island Resort to see what it was about. Best decision ever.
From the moment we stepped onto the resort grounds, we were impressed. The place is immaculate, spacious, and surprisingly welcoming even to non-guests. The staff didn’t give us strange looks for exploring around; in fact, it felt like they were used to cruise passengers dropping by.
But the real showstopper? The beachfront. Wow.
The sand was fine and white, almost powdery, and the water — that water! — was such a brilliant shade of turquoise it looked filtered, but it wasn’t. We found a row of sun beds set out right by the shore and just sank into relaxation. With a gentle sea breeze and the waves lapping quietly in the background, it was one of those moments that makes you pause and go, “This is the life.”
We didn’t try the food or stay overnight, but if the beach and atmosphere are any indication, this would be a fantastic place for a longer stay. It’s family-friendly, yet peaceful. Even with the occasional snorkel group or kayak floating by, the vibe remained chill and unhurried.
If your cruise ever stops in Redang, take a walk over to Laguna. Use the beach, lounge on a sunbed, soak up the tropical dream. No regrets at all.
