The distance from Paro Airport to Paro city center is only 5 km. After taking a taxi and settling in, I couldn't wait to start my walking tour of the city. My first stop was Paro Dzong. This fortress holds great significance for the locals, and it is said that you need to be accompanied by a local in traditional clothing to enter.
Paro Dzong's architecture is unique and quite similar to the Tibetan style. It looks solemn and simple, and every detail exudes a unique charm, making it hard to resist stopping to admire it.
Independent travel in Bhutan is a fantastic experience. It's not difficult, the prices are reasonable, and everything feels very pleasant and comfortable. Strolling around at your own pace and experiencing the exotic atmosphere is a rare treat.
