The World's Largest Wooden Castle - The Sanctuary of Truth

Often translated as "The Temple of Truth," but it is not a temple. Its roof features a four-faced Brahma statue symbolizing respect for parents, teachers, and rulers. Surrounding it are intricate wooden carvings blending Siamese, Indian, Khmer, and Chinese art, showcasing various deities and figures from Hinduism and Buddhism in East Asia.
This is a living museum, under construction since 1981! It is often compared to Thailand's version of the "Sagrada Familia" in Spain. While the Sagrada Familia is a religious building, the Sanctuary of Truth transcends religion, merging Asian carving craftsmanship.
Interestingly, this masterpiece was privately commissioned by a wealthy businessman of Chinese descent. While admiring the spectacular wooden carvings, one might ponder the philosophical themes within, such as "Who am I?", "Where do I come from?", "How do I exist?", and "What is the purpose of life?" The sanctuary also emphasizes virtues like gratitude and filial piety.
