Walking Through Petra, the Ancient City

The moment I arrived in Petra, I was amazed by the fact that 'the entire city is made of rock.' Houses, temples, and even stairways and roads were carved out of the red sandstone cliffs. It's hard to believe that people accomplished this thousands of years ago. 😮

While the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) is the most famous landmark, I was more impressed by the water systems and the traces left on the rocks as I ventured deeper into the city. Seeing how this place was not just a burial site but a bustling city where people lived, stored water, and traded made me truly appreciate the wisdom of the ancient inhabitants.

Climbing up to the **Monastery (Ad-Deir)** on the hill revealed an even more magnificent structure than the Treasury. The barren desert and red rock canyons along the way were like a painting in themselves. 🥾 Although the climb is quite challenging, once you reach the top, you'll instantly understand why it's a must-see.

At sunset, the rocks turned golden, transforming the entire city into something magical. During the day, the city felt bold and intense, but in the evening, it exuded a soft and mysterious charm, offering a completely different allure. 🌅
