Petra Ancient City in Jordan: Indiana Jones Filming Location, 2-Day Ticket for HKD 700

Jordan's most iconic site, Petra Ancient City, is famous for The Treasury, which gained worldwide recognition from the movie 'Indiana Jones.' Additionally, scenes from 'Transformers' were also filmed here.

One unique feature is the entrance at the ticket office. After about an hour's walk, you'll encounter a section called the Siq. The narrowest part of the Siq can only accommodate four or five people walking side by side, with towering cliffs on both sides, creating a magnificent atmosphere. 😍

At the end of the Siq, The Treasury will appear.

From The Treasury, you can continue to the less-visited Monastery on the mountain. The entire one-way journey from the ticket office is at least 8 kilometers, including a grueling section of over 800 steep steps. It's quite challenging. 😂 (This was introduced in the previous post.)

Therefore, most tourists only visit the famous Treasury, which takes about 2-3 hours for a round trip.

Nowadays, if you're willing to pay HKD 170 per person (one way), you can take an official golf cart directly to The Treasury without walking.

However, if you want to visit the distant Monastery, you'll have to walk. 💪
