Maya Bay, Leonardo DiCaprio Filmed Here in 2000

#phukettrip

Maya Bay is a super popular beach on Koh Phi Phi Leh island in Thailand, known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, soft white sand, and dramatic limestone cliffs.

It became world-famous after the movie The Beach (2000) with Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed there. Naturally, it turned into a hotspot for tourists. But because of the huge crowds, the beach was temporarily closed in 2018 to help restore its marine life and coral reefs.

Maya Bay is now reopen, but with strict rules to protect its environment. Swimming isn’t allowed, and the number of visitors is limited. Strictly follow the rules & instructions given by the rangers here. It is worth the visit for the views alone.
