The Phi Phi Islands are straight-up legendary in the Thailand beach scene! 🌴 Located in the sparkling Andaman Sea between Phuket and Krabi, these islands are part of Krabi Province and serve major paradise vibes for beach lovers and adventure seekers. The main stars here are Phi Phi Don (the only island with hotels and resorts) and Phi Phi Leh (famous for the insta-worthy Maya Bay).
What to Expect
• Beaches: Get ready for powdery white sand, jaw-dropping turquoise waters, and those dramatic limestone cliffs you’ve seen all over the ‘gram. Absolute eye candy!
• Snorkeling & Diving: The coral reefs here are next-level, with tons of colorful fish, friendly reef sharks, and a total underwater wonderland to explore.
• Nightlife: If you want to party, Phi Phi Don brings the heat—think epic beach bars, wild fire shows, and full-moon parties that go off till sunrise. The energy is unreal!
• Nature & Views: Don’t skip the hike to Phi Phi Viewpoint! The panoramic views of the twin bays are seriously 🤯.
Famous Spots
• Maya Bay: You’ve definitely seen this spot in The Beach! Newly reopened (with some visiting restrictions to help preserve the area), it’s a bucket-list experience.
• Monkey Beach: Meet the cheeky locals—actual wild monkeys! Be careful with your stuff because they love a good snack raid.
• Viking Cave: Known for bird’s nest harvesting and unusual rock wall paintings, it’s a cool stop for curious explorers.
• Long Beach: For chill time away from the crowds, hit up this quieter stretch of sand. Bonus: epic views of Phi Phi Leh.
Travel Tips
• Getting There: Hop on a ferry or speedboat from Phuket or Krabi; the trip takes around 1.5–2 hours. Book your tickets easily via trip.com!
• Best Time to Visit: November to April is the move—dry, sunny, and the ocean’s all calm and dreamy.
• Costs: From budget hostels to fancy resorts, there’s a spot for every wallet (but keep in mind island prices for food and rooms can be a bit higher than mainland Krabi).
Pro Tip: Most ferries arrive at Tonsai Pier on Phi Phi Don (Address: Moo 7, Ao Nang, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81000, Thailand). Ferries generally run 8 AM–3 PM.
Get those swimsuits ready! Phi Phi is calling, and it’s sooo good.
