It takes about four hours by bus from Bangkok to Korat, Thailand's second largest city.
From there, it's another hour by minibus.
Phimai, the city of Khmer ruins.

It's unclear exactly when it was built, but it's said to have been the model for Angkor Wat.
It's romantic that we in the modern era can see it and share the same space after so long.

If you like ruins, you should definitely go.
