🚙Take a trip to Ayutthaya, Wat Mae Nang Plim, pay homage to Luang Pho Khao🙏🙏🙏
🛕Wat Mae Nang Plim Mae Plim was a villager living alone on the riverside in the suburbs of Phra Nakhon. She had no children or grandchildren. One day, Somdet Phra Naresuan (said) by himself in the rain. When he arrived, he saw (looked at) the hut still lit by a lantern. It was already evening, so Somdet Phra Naresuan (said) to go up to the hut. Mae Nang Plim saw a man with wet clothes coming up, so she kindly invited him. But he was loud, as is the nature of a brave warrior. Mae Plim warned him, “My child, don’t be so loud. It’s already late. The king will hear and get angry. He spoke even louder, “I want to drink sandalwood water. I’m wet and cold. I want sandalwood water to keep my body warm.” Mae Plim was suddenly shocked again because today was a Buddhist holy day. Mae Plim said that if you really want to drink it, you have to promise that Don't let the story spread, or the King will know, it will be dangerous. Phra Naresuan promised. Mae Pleum gave her sandalwood water to drink (eat). Somdet Phra Naresuan stayed overnight at Mae Pleum's house. In the morning, he returned to the palace. Later, a procession was organized to take Mae Pleum to be raised in the palace. ⛪
🧡Because Mae Pleum was a kind person who was loyal to the King, after Mae Pleum passed away, Somdet Phra Naresuan held a funeral to honor her. Then Somdet Phra Naresuan built a temple for Mae Pleum, named "Wat Mae Nang Pleum". The principal Buddha image here is Luang Pho Khao. 🙏🙏🙏
