Wat Raeng, Khlong Sra Bua, Ayutthaya.

The only woman who sat on the throne as the King of Ayutthaya and is mentioned in the chronicles. Her history is described in just five lines, but it has been embellished into a story whose truth we cannot ascertain because, yes!! We were not born yet.
And we can't help but wonder, this ancient site under the Fine Arts Department, has it changed so much from its original state?

Wat Raeng is the site of the shrine of Nang Phra Ya Mae Yua Hua (Thao Sri Sudachan or Mae Yua) at Wat Raeng, Khlong Sra Bua, Ayutthaya.
In reality, this temple has almost no traces left, only mounds of earth (where the shrine is located) and some stones and soil that indicate it was once a temple.
According to belief, this temple is where bodies were displayed after being executed at the nearby Wat Chao Ya (which will be posted in the next post).
You can park your car for free. Walking in, on the right, there is a café and restaurant. Walking further, you will find the shrine and the mound. You can pay respects with 9 incense sticks. Walking further inside, you will see Khlong Pla Mo, a wide area with a small wooden bridge and a shady atmosphere. This place is believed to be where heads were displayed.
Location: Wat Raeng, Khlong Sra Bua, Ayutthaya.
